2007. NOAA Operates Three, 100 Percent Biobased Ships
For the last two years, three of GLERL's diesel ships run completely on biobased (rather than petroleum-based) products. Those made from soybean oil are ISO 32 & 68 Hydraulic Fluids, 90W Gear Oils, Lithium Greases, General Purpose Cleaners, Soy 2-Cycle Oils, Diesel Crank Case Oil and Biodiesel.
